i guess school is okay sometimes but yeah i agree they teach and give us assignments about totally random crap i'll never use again in real life. such as the cartoon stuff. honestly. and i don't think i'll ever grow up to be jeff harris and create shortcuts posters.

You don't need to know everything in the world unless you want EVERY college degree. School is gay.

I love school. You know why? Cause you'd be freaking bored without it. What the hell would you do 365 days a year if no one made you do anything? And you should be grateful because you are basically being given a good education which is an awesome thing that is totally taken for granted. You should go... Go.. Be a big poopy if you think school is gay!!! Gosh.

okay i agree with pretty much everything you said except this. im not complaining, but when are we honestly going to apply our knowledge of satirical historical comics in real life? probably never. seriously, its not like it was hard, but it was kind of a waste of time for a pointless project.

I think they could cut out some un-needed projects to allow time for things that are more important. We could've just looked up "Satire" and be done with the whole thing.

School is gay because like Erik( i think) said, we learn so much random crap that will never ever be useful when we could spend more time on topics that will actually help us out in life. Countries in Asia pwn us at academics, do you know why? Its cuz they start learning things that'll help them earlier like chemistry and stuff. No one gives a f*** about ecoscenarios and milkweed bugs or political satire...

I didn't say there shouldn't be any school, I'm saying that the educational system needs to get it in their head that you don't need to know everything because you're not going to use everything you learned at "the College level".

I totally agree with Rohi, and Ryan, you have his point of view wrong.
He's not saying there shouldn't be school, he's just saying they could have a more targeted approach towards their lessons.

Let U=A useless Project
and U on average is 4 hours ok?
Lets assume we get 4U per week=16 hours of wasted time per week.
16x40 weeks of school = 640 hours wasted

640 hours in which we could be doing something productive.
Ok, we learn about an ecosystem, why do we have to make a poster about it? I'm pretty sure most of the kids in our class aren't retarded and need to review a topic 10 times...

But hey people, other than these two projects of considerable lameness, I honestly don't remember too many others like these, so I think out teachers have done okay so far.

But thank God there's no such thing as a project in math class.
